Il vero Alfredo

As these pages print it.

The Gallery Wall as a Map of the Dining Room

The 2011 gallery page is /galleria/index.html. It carries a list headed Personaggi. The list holds about 58 named entries. The count is a count of that page. It is not a count of every photograph the older pages once held. The lines used here are labels, not a floor plan of the room.

Four labels can be quoted. Two are royal categories. Two are football names. The other names stay on the page and are not copied here. The restaurant is still Il vero Alfredo all'Augusteo, at Piazza Augusto Imperatore 30, in Rome. The gallery does not replace that address.

Personaggi and the count of about 58

Personaggi is the list name as printed. About 58 is the count made from the page. The word about matters. This page does not promote the count to a tighter integer. It does not print 57, and it does not print 59, as if a finer count had been taken. About 58 is the figure that was made from the list.

A named entry is a line in that list. The list is not the splash. The splash prints an address and a portrait caption, Alfredo III°. The gallery prints many names. The caption Alfredo III° is one line on the splash. It is not the sentence about 58. The history page has Alfredo I, II, and III. Those three are a family sequence. They are not the gallery count.

The count does not include a reason for later absences. It is a size for the 2011 list. The 2004 photo pages are a different era. They are a discrepancy, not a correction of the number. The splash postcode 00186 is not a count of names. The menu price 23,50 is not a count of names either.

The count set against the named labels

About 58 is a count. The labels below are quotations. A count and a quotation do different work. The count says how large the list is. The quotation says what a particular line prints. Four quotations are not the whole list. The rest of the names remain on /galleria/index.html and are not repeated here.

What is printedHow the line is read
about 58 named entriesa count of the Personaggi list
I Reali di Spagnaa category for the Spanish royal party
I Reali di Sveziaa category for the Swedish royal party
PAOLO ROBERTO FALCAOa football label printed as a name
PELÈ ARBITRO COELHOa football label printed as a name

The table puts the count in the first row and the four labels under it. The royal lines are categories. The football lines are names in capitals, as printed. PELÈ keeps the accent the label has. None of these rows is a price. None of them is 23,50. None of them is the postcode 00186. The fax slash on the splash is not a row in this list.

Royal parties printed as categories

I Reali di Spagna means the Spanish royal party, as a printed category. It does not name a king. It does not name a queen. I Reali di Svezia means the Swedish royal party, in the same way. The two labels are parallel. Each names a party. Neither names a monarch. The names the labels leave out are not supplied here.

A category is not a surname in a filename. The 2004 paths use Kennedy, Johnson, and Bush as filenames. Those paths are absent from the 2011 list. The royal labels are present in the 2011 list. Presence and absence are not the same sentence. The labels that are here name parties. They do not identify a single ruler. No visit date is added to either party.

The note on the royal labels stays with Spagna and Svezia. The gallery page only records that those two lines sit inside a list of about 58. They are two of the entries. They are not the count itself. The count remains about 58. The labels do not become the splash caption Alfredo III°.

Two football labels printed as names

PAOLO ROBERTO FALCAO is printed in capitals. The label gives more than one name part. PELÈ ARBITRO COELHO is also printed as a label, with the accent on PELÈ. These are football labels. No match date is added. No score is added. The words are the label, and the label stops. The royal labels do not look like these.

I Reali di Spagna is a party. PAOLO ROBERTO FALCAO is a name in capitals. The list can hold both kinds of line. About 58 counts entries. It does not, in the lines used here, sort them into parties and persons. The sorting on this page is a reading of the wording. It is not a new column the 2011 page is shown to print. No share of the 58 is invented for football or for royalty.

The splash caption Alfredo III° is also a name, with a degree sign. It is not in capitals the way FALCAO is printed. The history caption Alfredo III has no degree sign. The gallery football labels are a third way of printing a name. Capitals, on the 2011 list. Three forms. Three pages. They are not one caption copied forward. Armando as Alfredo II is a history sentence, not a football label.

Paths from 2004 that the list does not hold

Three 2004 photo pages are absent from the 2011 list. The paths are /frame/foto/Kennedy.htm, /frame/foto/johnson.htm, and /frame/foto/bush.htm. The filenames give Kennedy, Johnson, and Bush. They do not give further first names. This page does not assert which figures those surnames pick out. It does not add dates of visits. It does not decide why the paths are absent.

A fourth 2004 page, /frame/foto/disney.htm, is also absent from the 2011 gallery. The same kind of discrepancy applies. No visit date is added for that path either. The filename is disney, in lower case, as the path is written. Kennedy.htm capitalises Kennedy. johnson.htm and bush.htm do not capitalise the surname. The paths are quoted as they stand. They are not normalised.

The note on the three 2004 photo pages sets those paths against the 2011 absence. The gallery page only marks the discrepancy. About 58 describes the list that is present. It does not describe the 2004 pages that the list does not name. Absence is not an extra entry. It is a gap between eras.

What the gallery page does not decide

The 2011 list does not, in the lines used here, explain the missing 2004 paths. This page does not explain them either. A discrepancy between two eras is the whole claim. The golden fork and spoon are already part of the restaurant story. They are not a gallery label in the quotations above. The note on the golden fork and spoon keeps that story. The gallery keeps names.

Umberto's moustache is a history detail, not one of the four quoted labels. Ines and 1908 are history. Via della Scrofa with no number is history. The square with 30 in 1950 is history. The gallery count does not rewrite those lines. The note on Alfredo III stays with the portrait caption. The gallery stays with Personaggi. The telephone that breaks at +39 06/ is not a name on the wall.

The English frameset title drops the G in AUUSTEO. That typo does not decide who is in the list of about 58. The price 23,50 does not decide it either. Friday and Saturday name aperitivo days, not gallery entries. The list remains a list of names and categories. The address remains the square on the splash. The two jobs stay apart.
