Via della Scrofa, and then the square
The history page uses two addresses for two times, and only one of them has a number. The honeymoon meal, and Armando's restaurant after the war, are in Via della Scrofa. The page gives that street no civic number. In 1950 it names a new restaurant in Piazza Augusto Imperatore, 30.
The splash does not mention Via della Scrofa at all. Its only address is the square.
The honeymoon restaurant
Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford, the two famous American actors of the silent film, tasted the dishes during their honeymoon in Rome , in his restaurant in Via della Scrofa. There is a space between Rome and the comma. Via della Scrofa is capitalised on Via and Scrofa. della is lower case. No number follows Scrofa.
The page says they made him a gift of two gold tableware in that restaurant. It does not say they ate at Piazza Augusto Imperatore. The fork note quotes the dedication that follows. The street of the gift, on this page, is Via della Scrofa.
The English article page tells the same two names and a golden fork and spoon, and it places The Real Alfredo at Piazza Augusto Imperatore 30. It does not mention Via della Scrofa. The splash places Il vero Alfredo in Rome Piazza Augusto Imperatore 30 and also omits the old street. Only the history page, among the pages in this archive, prints Via della Scrofa.
The honeymoon has no year on the page. since twenties, on the English page, is not copied into the history sentence. The history sentence has the space before the comma and the street, and no date.
After the war, still on that street
The history page says the years passed and it was the turn of the war which gave a turning point. It does not name the war, and it does not give 1915 or 1940 or any other year. Alfredo decided to retire from the scene, leaving the worthy heir to his successor, Armando, as Alfredo II, in the restaurant in Via della Scrofa.
worthy heir and successor are both in the sentence. Armando is the name. as Alfredo II sets the numeral next to the name. The restaurant is still in Via della Scrofa. Again there is no number.
The next sentence says that with experience gained over time alongside his father, and with his charismatic personality, he always welcomes guests with a smile under the mustache Umberto. The pronoun follows Armando. The page uses welcomes, present tense, for that greeting. The moustache note stays with that smile and with the King and the Emperor.
Nothing in this passage moves Armando to the square. The square has not been mentioned yet as a restaurant address. The photograph alt Piazza Rosa is earlier in the page, and it is not captioned Via della Scrofa.
The 1950 sentence
The page then says: In 1950 Alfredo I decided to hand the reins and opening a new restaurant in Piazza Augusto Imperatore, 30. opening is the form printed, not opened. There are two spaces between and and opening in the markup. Alfredo I is the form here, matching the first portrait caption more closely than the birth sentence's Alfred II.
where currently continues the family tradition continued by his son Armando, came away from the local in Via della Scrofa and then by his son Alfredo III. came away from the local is the phrase. local is the word, not locale and not the name of a room. The sentence puts Armando's departure from Via della Scrofa in the same breath as the new restaurant and as Alfredo III.
The 30 has the same comma as the splash address. 00186 is not in the sentence. The page does not say the Via della Scrofa restaurant closed in 1950 in those words. It says came away from the local. The address note shows where 30 and 00186 are printed as a block, which is not this sentence.
currently continues is also the page's grammar. The sentence does not add a later year after 1950. Alfredo III is the last name in it, with a full stop.
Two addresses, not one
Via della Scrofa appears twice in the body: once for the honeymoon restaurant, once for Armando as Alfredo II, and the phrase the local in Via della Scrofa appears again inside the 1950 sentence. That is three mentions, two of them tying a person to the street, and none of them adding a house number.
Piazza Augusto Imperatore, 30 appears in that 1950 sentence on the history page, and as a block on the splash, on index.htm, and on both framesets. The framesets add 00186 and either ROMA or ROME. The history sentence does not.
The splash sentence about the only place in Italy uses Rome Piazza Augusto Imperatore 30 and does not look back at Via della Scrofa. A note that said the actors ate at the square would be following the splash's address, not the history page's honeymoon sentence. This note follows the history page for the meal, and the 1950 sentence for the move.
No archived page prints a map, a bus line, or a walking time between the two. Directions is a word in the navigation, not a link, and directions.htm is not in the archive. The note does not invent the route.
The local, the heir, the new room
local is easy to smooth into locale or location. The page says local. came away is easy to smooth into left. The page says came away. opening a new restaurant is easy to smooth into opened. The page says opening, after hand the reins and.
Armando is not given a surname. Alfredo I is not called Di Lelio in the 1950 sentence. Di Lelio was the boy at the start. The page does not repeat the surname when it says Alfredo I decided.
The new restaurant is where the family tradition continued, in the page's words, by Armando and then by Alfredo III. It does not say Alfredo III was born in 1950. It does not give his age. The dynasty note quotes the next lines, father to son to grandson, which still do not add a number to Via della Scrofa.
The English frameset and the Italian frameset do not mention the old street. Their no-frames tables are the square, the postcode, and a telephone. The street with no number remains a history-page fact.
